Gayatri Sarkar is a mission-driven investor and board member with a focus on lowering and removing carbon from our environment. With over 6 years of relevant experience, she is the founder of Advaita Capital, a 100% women-POC-owned firm that invests in growth-stage startups globally with a focus on DEI-ESG investment excellence. Gayatri has a team of senior partners, CIOs, and CEOs from top-tier institutional investment firms and large family offices who share her passion for investing in amazing tech entrepreneurs driving a planet-positive movement to advance the human race while reducing our carbon footprint. Gayatri is a former Federal Reserve Bank, Goldman, HP, IBM, hedge fund (VC), GP at TMT fund (acquired), and founder of a consulting tech startup. She is on the board of a few large asset management firms/Private Equity, FOF, and ESG-focused tech startups as an investor. Gayatri has been quoted on climate tech and diversity in the media at Techcrunch, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company, Leaders in Sports (awarded Global Leader 40 under 40), and was featured at Times Square Billboard by NASDAQ. Gayatri is an advocate of climate change and loves horses. When she is not investing, she obsesses about Behavioral Economics and Quantum Physics. She is also the founder of She-VC, a storytelling platform for other diverse GPs/LPs, which celebrates diversity and champions the voice of women and diverse GPs and LPs. She-VC is a diversity, inclusion, and broader ESG-focused multi-asset class storytelling platform that is focused on getting women and diverse funders and founders funded. Gayatri has a degree in Physics Honors, Math, and Electronics minor from the University of Calcutta, a Junior Research Fellow from the Department of Atomic Energy at HRI, and a Master's degree in Game Theory, Micro and Macro Economics, and Behavioral Finance from Harvard University. She also completed Executive Education in Private Equity- Investing and Creating Value from The Wharton School and a course in Financial Market Regulation and International Banking Corporate Governance Course from LSE.
