Gino Kurian is an experienced Software Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in a variety of platforms including Java, Scala, Javascript, Spark, Big Data, and more. He is currently working as an SDE 3 at PayPal, where he holds the position of MTS 1. Gino is a postgraduate from BITS Pilani (Pilani campus) and has a passion for accepting new challenges. He has a strong technical background and has worked with REST APIs, JSON, and node js for harvesting details of a data source. He has also created rest endpoints using Java for loading data to an Essbase cube using Spark. Gino has worked with Oracle in the past, where he held the position of Senior Member of Technical Staff. During his tenure at Oracle, he worked in the ODI studio in Java and later moved to the cloud team. He also worked in front-end for a brief period using Oracle JET, Javascript, and Node js. He has experience working with tools and technologies such as Java, Javascript, Git, Agile, and Docker. Currently, Gino is working on capturing the lineage of Spark applications using in-built query listeners from Spark. He has worked on the listeners using Scala and used Java for other components. He also designed and developed the listener. He has experience working with big data, Java, Scala, Git, Jira, and Agile. Gino has a Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Software Systems from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science & Engineering from St. Joseph's College of Engineering & Technology, Palai. He has relevant experience of 11.86 years and possesses a strong technical background in software engineering, Spark, Java, Big Data, Scala, Javascript, UI, and Docker.
