Girish Mururu is a highly skilled software engineer with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Google, where he is part of the Adversarial Program Analysis (TAPA) team that focuses on statically detecting malware in Android apps, SDKs, and frameworks. He has designed and built a new Android framework analysis pipeline to statically analyze OEM Android frameworks and has also proposed ML-based reachability analysis for an internship project that was approved by the team. Additionally, he has worked on distributed tracing within Google, where he designed and implemented bucketed sampling of traces to collect traces of different RPCs in Google services. During his Ph.D., Girish explored using compilers and static and runtime analysis for improving the security, performance, and other properties of systems. He has published several papers in top conferences such as OOPSLA, PLDI, CGO, and ICPP. He has also interned at VMware and Intel, where he worked on building a wrapper library around curator and corfuDB to provide a single interface for leveraging the services provided by these libraries and prototyped parallel constructs such as task block for C++ and C in clang and LLVM. Prior to joining Georgia Tech for his Master's and Ph.D., Girish worked at Intel India as a Graphics Software Engineer for two years, during which he worked on prototyping new experimental display protocols, enabling display architecture of new generation processors, and maintaining the codebase of graphics display driver. Girish's technical skills include software engineering, Android, ML, research scientist, and Spring. He is also an experienced Graduate Teaching Assistant, having designed a framework for the online course project to build a compiler for a C subset language and guided students in implementing a complete compiler for a C subset language targeting MIPS ISA. Overall, Girish is a highly accomplished software engineer with a strong background in research and development.
