Gobind Manuja is a versatile and self-motivated Software Engineer with over 5 years of relevant experience in computer networking and full-stack development. He is currently an Engineering Intern (Full-stack) at Cisco, where he built an Angular and Django-based controller for configuring and monitoring Cisco's WAAS devices via Netconf. Gobind has previously worked as a Software Engineer I (Data Plane, Routing) and Software Engineer II (Back-end APIs) at Cisco, where he actively contributed towards data plane and platform hardening for vEdge routers. He brought 70+ defects to closure, of which 50% were customer found. Additionally, he wrote a Linux process for gathering entropy from a TAM device (hardware chip) for ISR11xx platforms and assisted local teams with ramp-up on on-prem (ESXi) SD-WAN deployments through demonstrations and technical blogs. As a founding engineer for vManage back-end team at Bangalore site, Gobind conducted sessions on REST, Elasticsearch, Maven, Yang & Conf-D. He migrated major vManage components from a custom Linux OS (Yocto) to independent RPMs capable of running on stock Linux OS. He also developed a Docker and Python-based edge device simulator to be used for testing vManage functionality in a scaled environment. He collaborated with QA teams to deploy 600+ simulated nodes on a single UCS server as opposed to 30 actual cEdge nodes, thereby reducing resource requirements by 20x. Gobind is a Fellow at Stoa School, where he is pursuing StoaMBA. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Vellore Institute of Technology. His technical expertise and interests lie in Software Engineering, Backend, QA, Test, Python, Docker, and Elastic Search. He is a fast learner and a preacher of honesty, who believes in versatility and can assume leadership if the need arises.
