Gopi Agarwal is a highly experienced Principal Data Scientist and CTO at Silfra Technologies, where he is responsible for leading and steering data science projects and products. With over 26 years of industry experience in Utilities, Telecom, Manufacturing, Retail, and IT, Gopi has developed multiple algorithm-based solutions towards inventory prediction, sales analytics, survey analytics, image analytics, data visualization, and prediction projects. Gopi has played a leadership role in enabling high performing teams to achieve industry-leading transformation leveraging cutting-edge technology in business and IT. He has worked extensively from both US and India locations, with geographically diverse teams in the US, Europe, Singapore, Japan, and India. Prior to co-founding Silfra Technologies, Gopi spent 21 years with Infosys Technologies in various roles in Global Delivery Management, Program Management, Account Management, Engagement Management, Relationship Management, and leading Pre Sales for large deals. During his time at Infosys, Gopi provided application development and maintenance services to a Tier 1 backbone communication service provider in the US and Europe, and was responsible for delivery and engagement with the customer to achieve customer goals by delivering high quality and timely customer experience. Gopi's education history includes a Master of Science (MS) in Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a BE in Electronics and Telecommunication from IIEST, Shibpur. He also completed trainee programs at CDAC-ACTS. Gopi's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Data Scientist, Research Scientist, and Search. At Silfra Technologies, Gopi is currently driving data-science projects, developing strategies to enable engineers to perform in highly scalable and fast-paced data science projects, providing technical direction, architecture, and design for key accounts, planning and overseeing key data science accounts, and responding to key data science solutions in pre-sales. Some of the projects he has delivered include a large survey analytics solution for a leading auto manufacturer, inventory analysis using RCNN for Amazon sellers in the US, image-based search for a US-based tools manufacturer, AI-based Optical Character Recognition to digitize documents for the financial industry, and image analysis to detect time to service mining equipment.
