Gordon Dent is an experienced Engineering Manager at Facebook, currently working at meta. He leads teams that build products to support the growth of people and teams at Facebook within the domain of employee engagement and performance management. Prior to his current role, Gordon worked as a Front End Engineer at meta and Co-Founder & CTO at workshape.io. At workshape.io, he built the initial prototype and proof of concept, including the front-end app and RESTful API. He iterated upon the prototype, taking into account customer feedback and testing, and implemented a unit and integration testing strategy. He also scaled the application to a multi-server architecture and automated server provisioning and monitoring using Ansible, Digital Ocean, and Nagios. Gordon launched the hiring platform in the UK, Western Europe, and the US, with hundreds of paying customers from over 20 different countries. He also evangelized technology, spoke about technology at multiple meetups, and wrote a number of blogs. Gordon holds an MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Exeter. He also completed A-Levels in ICT, Economics, Physics, and Religious Studies: Western Ethics and Philosophy at Dr Challoner's Grammar School. Gordon's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Frontend, test, Redux, and UI. With over 15 years of relevant experience, Gordon is a seasoned professional who can effectively lead teams and build products that support employee growth and engagement.
