Grace Li is a seasoned software engineer with over 9 years of experience in the field. She is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon, where she has worked in various teams in different domains. Her work at Amazon has mainly focused on re-architecting, building, and operating middle-tier distributed systems, API and data services. She has a keen interest in the applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, particularly in building systems that power ML/AI models for customer-facing products. Grace has been part of the Amazon Pharmacy GA launch team in 2020, where she led the Pharmacy discovery CX. She was also instrumental in launching the FSA/HSA retail front-end experience in 2018. Prior to her current role, she was the lead engineer for the Digital Subscription Platform team, where she was the tech lead on the platform side that supported the subscription capabilities for Prime Book Box subscription program. Before joining Amazon, Grace worked as a Senior Data Engineer at Grand Rounds, Inc. where she collaborated closely with data science and customer success teams to build an end-to-end pipeline for all external customer data sources. She was also a lead of a small agile team that built scalable and secure data pipelines on top of existing microservices to ingest, transform, validate, and integrate medical data (eligibility and claims) into application data models utilizing Apache Spark and AWS EMR. Grace also has experience working as a Software Engineer at Pivotal Labs, where she was the team lead for Pivotal Command Center, a web cluster deployment and management interface for Hadoop. She also worked on the NFC mobile payment app for the Blackberry 7 platform and the Bell TV iPhone and iPad app, apps that deliver streaming video content to Bell TV and Mobility customers. Grace holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computational Biophysics and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Applied Math from the University of Waterloo.
