Greg FitzGerald is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of relevant experience in supporting venture growth. He is currently serving as the Chief of Staff for Silicon Valley Bank in Canada, where he provides strategic and operational support to the organization while building connective tissue across the company. Prior to his current role, Greg served as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Sustainability at the University of British Columbia. In this role, he led courses for MBA, STEM, and Commerce students to learn entrepreneurial methods through a combination of practical, applied learning and case studies on disruptive ventures. His unique focus was leveraging market forces and technology innovations for social and environmental betterment. Greg also served as the Principal of Venture Stem, an innovation firm that helps institutions including funds, banks, family offices, universities, and accelerators to better support entrepreneurial ventures. His projects included the design of innovative debt products for cleantech and robotics startups, complex deal structuring to support sustainable development initiatives, and ongoing mentorship and prototyping services for startup founders and executives. He worked collaboratively with clients to develop and guide the execution of strategies that incorporate powerful technologies and business model innovations. Greg holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Oxford and completed the Global Solutions Program at Singularity University, where he studied Exponential Technologies for Climate Change.
