Greg Regan is a highly experienced Software Solution Architect with over 30 years of relevant experience. Currently, he works as a Technical Leader II at Cisco, where he is responsible for designing and developing solutions for Cisco Hybrid (cloud connectivity to premise) solutions. His expertise lies in Java Spring microservices, DevOps, Continuous Integration, and metrics-driven development. Greg has worked on several projects during his tenure at Cisco. As a Technical Leader I, he was involved in two critical projects where he added XMPP federation support to Cisco Expressway product, which allowed Cisco Jabber customers to securely federate with 3rd parties. Additionally, he worked on the Collaboration Edge project, which added VPN less XMPP client access to Cisco Collaboration EDGE, enabling access to IM and Presence services outside the firewall using an XMPP-based solution. As a Development Manager, Greg managed a group of 12 software developers, designing and implementing a C++ Windows desktop application. Technologies included Windows GDI, Instant Messaging/Presence (XMPP), Voice/Video (SIP/RTP), Voicemail (IMAP). Greg holds a MsEngSc degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. In his current role, Greg has developed several Java Spring microservices, including Hybrid Message, Fusion On-boarding service, Fusion Voicemail, and Fusion Management. He has also developed a polyglot framework that enables upgradeable components to be deployed seamlessly from the cloud to premise. Greg's expertise in Java, Spring, Microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, and Integration makes him a valuable asset to any organization. He is a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in backend development and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
