In my role as Technical Lead for BLE related development on the Access Point I was responsible for development of firmware on the Mist family of wireless access points for all BLE related functionality, including, but not limited to interleaving of Mist’s patented vBLE, iBeacon, Eddystone-UID, and Eddystone-URL BLE beacon frame formats. This also included scanning as well as advertising together, to allow functionality such as way-finding and asset tracking to run simultaneously. As the access point family expanded, I took on the role of designing and prototyping of BLE functionality on the nrf52 family of chips using Zephyr. 
To reduce load on the cloud based micro-services I implemented mechanisms and new messaging schemes from the access points such as BloomFilter based filtering on Connected Wireless Clients and BLE Assets of Interest. 
From a security standpoint I've worked on WiFi threat detection and mitigation for rogue access points and clients. I've also focussed on general wifi improvements across all our platforms. 
As our fleet of deployed access points grew, I prototyped and am constantly improving a means of peer to peer software upgrades of these devices. 
Lately I've been focussed on the bring up of the 802.11ax wireless utility and driver.

Mist is focused on delivering the next generation of intelligent wireless network products, leveraging microservices &amp; data science. The Mist Network continuously streams data from its hardware to the cloud, analyzes this data in real-time, and pro-actively adjusts the network to deliver better performance, stability, and user experiences. It is a network that effectively fixes itself while delivering unprecedented insights into users, devices, and location behaviors. It automatically connects to any of its networks and uses a technology called virtual Bluetooth Low Energy (vBLE) to track your location and send any apps or information that might be the applicable situation. Mist’s machine learning, the system dynamically captures PCAP files whenever issues are detected with user connections, performance, and application experiences.

Cloud-based analytics platform for Wireless network solutions

I've designed, and developed a HomeKit compliant IoT sensor for the home. This included writing the drivers for the ambient light, motion, temperature and humidity sensors, and then working closely with the hardware team to calibrate these readings based on the enclosure built by the mechanical engineering team. I also implemented a device driver for the LCD panel, and developed an algorithm to adjust the LCD backlight based on the ambient light levels. 

To improve the process while working on BLE projects, I also took it upon myself to build a GoLang based tool to facilitate testing and product development over BLE. The tool scans the environment, connects to devices, and gathers and presents in human readable form, all the services and characteristics that a BLE device supports. The tool is also open-sourced on Github for anyone to use. 

Prior to this, I worked closely with the hardware and mobile apps teams to build a BLE controlled desk-lamp. The lamp supported several levels of brightness, as well as over the air firmware updates.

I was a member of the mobile group focussing on the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) Solution. As a part of this team, I worked on the Serving Gateway (SGW), PDN Gateway (PGW) and the GGSN. 

I have had the opportunity of designing and developing a GGSN to work in conjunction with our PGW, on the same platform, at the same time. I have implemented all call flows on the GGSN including Inter-RAT handovers between the GGSN and PGW. My other project included features such as Time of Day Rule Processing, Sponsor Data, DNS Based whitelisting of traffic, and lawful intercept.

Designed the network calibration tool on the Wireless Control System (WCS) to improve location accuracy on WiFi Networks.

Added support for Network Mobility Services Protocol (NMSP) version 2 on the Mobility Services Engine (MSE)  to improve the accuracy of indoor wireless location. Collaborated with the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller team to ensure the protocol changes were seamless to the overall system.

Improved the overall usability of the location aspects of the WCS. 

Created and tested a demo iPhone application to show the basic alarm dashboard of the WCS. This was demonstrated at the Cisco Global Sales Meeting, 2008.
