Han Li is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with over 7 years of relevant experience in the industry. He is currently working at Instacart as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II, Machine Learning Infrastructure, where he leads the projects to build Distributed Machine Learning Platform with Ray. Han Li has previously worked at Facebook as a Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning Training Platform. During his tenure at Facebook, he built up PyTorch based distributed training framework SDK and ML consumer faced distributed training applications on both CPU and GPU platforms. He also designed and built up the first generation of PyTorch model refreshing pipeline and led the development of PyTorch based compatible training projects. Han Li has also co-led the redesign of packaging and interface solutions of PyTorch production training full-stack, including model authoring framework, job scheduler, and backend managed trainers/services. He led the platform consolidation project for Caffe2 based online training on multiple company critical ranking products (ads, news feed, marketplace, integrity). He consolidated online training solutions into unified training software and unified resource management services. Han Li also re-designed the personalization platform software testing & release pipeline to enhance release efficiency and reliability. Before working at Facebook, Han Li worked at Qualcomm as a Software Engineer, where he designed and implemented embedded LTE firmware algorithms for physical layer, with a focus on downlink channel estimation & noise estimation. He also worked on algorithm performance enhancement on multi-threaded systems for Qualcomm DSP Modem products. Han Li has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.Eng degree in Electronic Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
