With over 6 years of relevant experience in the industry, Hao has worked on a variety of projects and technologies, gaining expertise in ML, infra, backend, software engineering, and big data. In his current role at Nextdoor, Hao is responsible for developing and implementing ML infrastructure solutions. He leverages his experience in building scalable and reliable backend systems to design and maintain ML models and data pipelines. Hao is passionate about exploring new technologies and finding innovative solutions to complex problems. Prior to joining Nextdoor, Hao worked as a Software Engineer at Suki and Qualtrics, where he was responsible for designing and implementing backend systems for major features. At Suki, Hao worked on scaling voice streaming and audio + note storage backend to support 10x more users. He also worked on Machine Learning Data Infrastructure for ASR (voice to text), intent extraction, and recommendations model training. At Qualtrics, Hao was responsible for building real-time big data processing pipelines and analytics API layer, working with terabytes of data and billions of records.
