Harish Suryanarayanan is an Embedded Software Developer at HiPER Automotive, where he is responsible for developing firmware and application level codes for a microcontroller to communicate with a vehicle. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He is currently pursuing his graduate studies at the University of Southern California. Harish is a highly motivated experimenter with a keen interest in exploring the depths of Embedded Systems, Real-Time Systems, and the Internet of Things. He enjoys working with a diverse set of people and enthusiastically organizes humanitarian activities. He is a Software Engineer and Research Scientist with 3.27 years of relevant experience. At HiPER Automotive, Harish has implemented In-Application Programming (IAP) to boot the ST Microcontroller from SD Card. He has also partially developed, optimized, and debugged codes for HiPER UNO v1 and helped install the device on vehicles. His expertise extends to protocols like USART, CAN, K Line, SDIO, and ymodem. Harish has also worked on research projects during his academic career. He implemented Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD) with MobileNet and Inception v2 algorithms to detect road damages during his Bachelor's thesis at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. He also developed a DEVS model to detect abnormal temperature rises inside a house and warn occupants of the imminent danger during his Mitacs Globalink Research Internship at Carleton University. Harish has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli. He also completed his high school education with a 95.2% score from Montfort School Kattur, Trichy.
