Harsh Arora is a seasoned Software Engineer at Facebook, with over 9 years of experience in the IT industry. He is also an entrepreneur, having co-founded Celtris, an app development company focused on road safety. Harsh started his career as a Co-operation Research Associate at CERN, where he was exposed to the alarming statistics of road accidents that led him to co-found Celtris. The company developed two apps, one to help school kids reach home safely and the other to improve driving behavior and alert family in case of emergencies. Harsh's role in the company ranged from building frontend to backend, system architecture, and final product development. He also led the company's consumer-centric strategy, which helped enhance the UX of their apps. Apart from his work at Celtris, Harsh has also worked as a Lead Software Development Engineer and Senior Software Development Engineer at Swiggy, India's leading food ordering and delivery platform. At Swiggy, he was involved in designing and developing vendor systems, partner on-boarding, real-time processing and fulfillment of orders, and vendor insights. He also designed a distributed scheduled job handler for reducing closure cancellations and led the development of BCP for all critical vendor systems handling 15M+ messages per day. Harsh has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Hons. in Computer Science and Engineering from the LNM Institute of Information Technology. He has audited Deep Learning courses by Andrew Ng and has a keen interest in machine learning and AI. In his free time, Harsh enjoys playing the guitar and sketching. He is passionate about road safety and has organized awareness campaigns in different cities across Rajasthan, Delhi, and Punjab. He has also trained several teachers in road safety programs on safety guidelines and demonstrated how technology can help achieve that with ease.
