Harsh Patel, P.E. is a highly skilled Project Engineer with 3.78 years of experience in pavement design and evaluation. He holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Currently working at rdm international, inc. as a Project Engineer, Mr. Patel specializes in roadway and runway design, performing nondestructive testing, condition survey, structural evaluation, and design for airport and roadway pavements in accordance with FAA, ASTM, AASHTO, or DoD standards. He is also experienced in FWD data analysis, pavement condition survey, LCCA (Life Cycle Cost Analysis), pavement evaluation and design for airport and roadway pavements. Mr. Patel is skilled in FAA Advisory Circular 150/5335-5C, 150/5320-6F, 150/5370-11B, 150/5380-6C, 150/5380-7B, ASTM D5340, D4694, D4695 and UFC 3-270-08. In addition to his current role, Mr. Patel has also worked on research projects in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), where he analyzed the implementation of ‘Superpave 5’ framework, ensuring conformance with design and contract requirements. He was responsible for visiting construction sites, collecting field samples, and performing QA/QC analysis. He also developed an exhaustive database for test results and analyzed data statistically in MS Excel using graphs & charts. Mr. Patel successfully defended his thesis and submitted a detailed report to INDOT. During his time at Purdue University, Mr. Patel was a key part of a 5-member team that represented the university at the Asphalt Mixture Design Competition conducted by CRH Americas. The team made an optimum mix design for a 4-lane divided highway with a 20-year design ESAL count of 2.7 million, which was evaluated on rutting (Hamburg Wheel tracking test), cracking (SCB test), and cost. Purdue University was awarded first position in this one-of-a-kind competition. Mr. Patel has hands-on experience in all phases of pavement evaluation, design, and pavement management system (PMS), including traffic analysis, Nondestructive Testing, field inspection, record research, PAVER implementation, M&R analysis, engineering computation, GIS implementation, and development of pavement evaluation and design reports
