Harsha Sabbineni is a highly experienced Machine Learning Engineer, currently working at Facebook. He specializes in building AI products using the latest NLP/NLU and Deep Learning techniques, with a strong background in distributed systems and storage. With over 17 years of relevant experience, Harsha has a proven track record of developing and launching successful chatbot platforms, including at his previous company, Sense, where he led a small team to develop and launch their conversational AI platform. He is also responsible for the development of machine learning models for intent recognition, named entity recognition, and dialog state management for the chatbot platform, as well as monitoring and alerting. Prior to his current role at Facebook, Harsha served as the NLP/Deep learning Lead at Wells Fargo, where he built a strong conversational AI team that worked on the Wells Fargo chatbot and other NLP initiatives. His team developed machine learning models for intent recognition, entity recognition, misspelling handling and correction, and open set classification to detect unrecognized intents. They also developed the model training module to train and deploy new models. Harsha holds a PhD and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University, as well as a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
