Harshal Waghmare is a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, currently working in the Private Wealth Strategies division of the Consumer & Wealth Management Division. With almost a decade of experience in investment banking, Harshal has a strong background in creating quantitative solutions for private wealth management businesses. In his current role, he is responsible for designing complex loans for ultra-high net worth clients and developing derivative portfolio strategies for the Market Solutions Group. Prior to this, Harshal held the position of Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group (Investment Banking Division) at Goldman Sachs. He was a member of the FIG Strategists group in IBD, where he gained extensive experience in standalone and pro-forma M&A valuation for banks and corporates, including synergy modelling. Additionally, he was involved in buy-side pitches for banks with Basel III capital and was well-versed in derivatives pricing and structuring tailored equity hedging solutions for insurance clients. Harshal was also the product owner of a tool for General Partner cashflows valuation for private equity clients, estimating fees/carry, which was a key analysis for GP stake sale transactions. In 2017, he was awarded 1st Prize out of 7 GS teams in the IBD Hack for generating an idea and executing a client-targeting solution for potential Follow-on Price Offerings (FPO) based on MSCI Index rebalancing. Harshal holds an MBA in Finance, Statistics, and Strategy from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where he graduated in 2016. Prior to that, he completed his Master of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, in 2011, and his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur in 2006. He completed his high school education at Kendriya Vidyalaya.
