Harshit Barot is a Master's in Computer Science student at Stony Brook University with a degree in Computer Engineering from SPIT, University of Mumbai. He is an experienced Software Engineer and Data Engineer with a passion for solving complex problems with simple scalable solutions. Currently working as a Graduate Analyst at Barclays Bank, Harshit's day-to-day tasks involve ETL operations to migrate data from on-premise to Cloud. He has also developed a framework to efficiently migrate data from Hadoop to Barclays' internal cloud and used Python to analyze Playstore and IOS store Ratings and Reviews for the Barclays US App. Additionally, he has created dynamic reports based on the company’s marketing and service data using Tableau. Prior to Barclays, Harshit worked at SS&C Technologies as an SWE intern, where he contributed to a web crawling and web scraping project using Python to automate the extraction of details of individual's profile details from web directories and web pages. He also built error-proof, thoroughly tested UI screens and common components and dynamic graph/chart generating components using VueJS, HTML, and CSS. Furthermore, he developed tested and integrated REST API services on Springboot for the project and solved the existing bugs. He also designed an encryption and decryption system for protecting user-sensitive data using the RSA algorithm in Java. Harshit's education history includes a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, expected to be completed in December 2023, and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavans, completed in January 2021. He has experience in Data Science and Software Development areas, and is familiar with Python, SQL, Tableau, AWS, Java, and frameworks like Flask and Vue.JS. Harshit has an interest in the following domains- technology and software, quantitative finance, artificial intelligence, and business. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, listening to music, and composing poetry. With 2.18 years of relevant experience, Harshit is actively looking for internships for the Summer of 2023 for Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Science roles.
