Harshith Arun Kumar is a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University with a background in software engineering. He has experience working at Microsoft as a Software Engineer for the Azure Storage team, where he built large-scale data-intensive systems and big data infrastructure using C++, C#. He worked on Azure Data Lake Storage and Cosmos, Microsoft's internal big data analytics platform. Harshith is skilled in C#, C++, Distributed Systems, Big Data, and Scalability. He also has experience in Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and the math behind machine learning and deep learning. His research work can be found on his Google Scholar profile. Currently, Harshith is an Independent Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is starting and exploring two projects: CausalML NeurIPS competition with Prof. Tom Mitchell and Robin Schmucker and Federated Learning with Prof. Eric Xing and Hongyi Wang. Harshith has also worked as a Summer Intern at Samsung, where he worked on the Search team under the division On Device Artificial Intelligence to improve application search and enhance Samsung Bixby Search. He has a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from PES and is currently pursuing a Master of Computational Data Science at Carnegie Mellon University. In his free time, Harshith enjoys playing tennis and watching all kinds of sports. He is a Research Scientist with expertise in Big Data, infra, Azure, ML, Software Engineering, Deep Learning, Hadoop, Python, Search, and Mobile. With 1.95 years of relevant experience, Harshith is a motivated and skilled individual with a passion for technology and research.
