Heather Lorenzo is a Full Stack Web Developer at Argo Digital with a passion for creating web applications with the user in mind. With a background in design, Heather sees UX as a form of storytelling, beginning with easy-to-use functionality, enhancing that experience through its visual design, and growing into an app with use and purpose. She is always ready to discover new and different ways to tackle a problem and loves learning new technologies that help her grow as a developer. Heather has over 12 years of relevant experience, with her most recent role as a Senior Software Engineer at lextegrity. Prior to that, she worked as a Full Stack Web Developer at Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd., where she led engineering efforts on different teams when developing application architecture, new features, and enhancements to deliver user-facing web applications, selling different insurance products via brokers to consumers. Heather delivered highly testable code using dependency injection and inversion techniques, type coverage, and automated testing. She also built custom and reusable React components for dynamic UI based on design specs for their micro frontend applications. Heather has experience utilizing Apollo for front-end data management and GraphQL for a dynamic and flexible API that aggregated data from multiple platform services. She developed and maintained multiple Serverless web APIs, utilizing API Gateway, AWS Lambda, written in Typescript and JavaScript. Heather created and maintained Kafka consumers and producers to process and transfer data to and from their external vendors to keep data consistent between systems. She also helped create and maintain a shared internal user management service, built with AWS ECS, written in Typescript using gRPC Node that allows applications within their company to authenticate and manage their users. Heather's past experience also includes working as a Student Mentor at Dev Bootcamp, where she helped current students who had questions on the day's challenges, reviewed student code, and offered suggestions for improvement. She also taught short lectures on subjects that students needed supplemental help. Heather's education history includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Art from Cleveland Institute of Art and completion of Dev Bootcamp.
