Hemant Kumar Singh is a polyglot programmer with over 5 years of experience in multi-tenant SaaS/Cloud application development. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science (Big Data Systems) at Arizona State University, Tempe. Hemant is a stern follower of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and believes that it improves the two biggest pillars of large-scale software projects - Clean Code Architecture and Testability. During his work at Zoho, Hemant practiced TDD to ensure the testability of new and existing projects. Hemant's technical skills include programming languages such as Java, Python, Swift, OOPs, and TDD. He is also proficient in databases and information retrieval systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Lucene, and Elasticsearch. Hemant has experience in web development using HTML, JavaScript (beginner), and Java Servlet. He is familiar with software development tools such as IntelliJ, PyCharm, Android Studio, and XCode. Hemant has worked with other tools such as Git, Redis, Protobuf, JavaCC, and Shell script. Currently working as a Software Engineer II at Chewy, Hemant has previously worked at Dell EMC as a Software Senior Engineer and Software Engineer Intern. During his tenure at Dell, Hemant worked on data storage devices event data analysis to make it Machine Learning friendly. He identified important missing information and gaps in the existing storage devices event data using SQL & Alteryx. Hemant used K-Means and DBSCAN clustering to create & analyze event clusters and proposed data changes to improve clustering accuracy. He also identified event sequences that are most prevalent and lead to frequent system outages. Hemant proposed new data & event changes for predictive failure analysis to reduce system downtime. Hemant has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from SASTRA University and is set to complete his Master's degree in Computer Science (Big Data Systems) from Arizona State University in December 2021.
