Henry Lee is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 19 years of experience in the field. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at a startup, where he specializes in working with industrial scale data. Henry has a strong background in Search, ML, NLP, iOS, Objective-c, PHP, Computer Vision, OpenCV, TensorFlow, and Web. Prior to his current role, Henry worked at Apple as a Principal Software Engineer for the Siri Search Team. In this role, he was responsible for developing Internet-scale server software for Linux systems, processing petabyte-scale datasets, and applying knowledge of data mining, NLP algorithms, and machine learning for the development of key iOS and OS X features. He also developed tools, processes, and metrics to help build a high-quality search pipeline and core technologies required for search that can be scaled for various languages. Henry was also the head of the unannounced Special Projects Group at Apple, where he brought creative ideas for existing and future Apple products/services and leveraged the power of large amounts of data to solve complex problems. Henry is also a Co-founder and CTO of Gatheric, where he led the engineering team to build an event crowd-funding system similar to a hybrid of Eventbrite.com and Kickstarter.com using MEAN stack. He also built an online classifieds services system similar to Shopify using Laravel PHP, conducted R&D on a visual sign language (ASL) translation app for iPhone using computer vision (OpenCV) and machine learning (TensorFlow), and developed an online dating service for web (PHP) and iPhone (Objective-C). Henry has a Master of Science degree in Software Management from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (Honours) from Simon Fraser University, and a CS Exchange Degree in Computer Science from 한국과학기술원(kaist).
