Hitesh Waghela is a Lead NLP Engineer at Sense, where he is currently part of the Chatbot team. With almost a decade of experience in the field, Hitesh has a deep understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Conversational AI. He is responsible for building end-to-end NLP capabilities to empower Sense Chatbot and other products. Prior to joining Sense, Hitesh worked in the Conversational AI team at Fractal as a Senior Data Scientist. His job involved solving text-based problem statements for a variety of clients in different domains such as CPG, Insurance, Retail, Manufacturing, E-commerce, etc. He is well-versed in different NLP techniques like Language Modeling, Fine-tuning pre-trained models like BERT, GPT, Named Entity Recognition, Text Generation, Regular Expressions, Topic Modeling, Information Retrieval, Question Answering, Conversation Interfaces, etc. Hitesh is proficient and comfortable with Python, SQL, and R. He also has working knowledge in creating web interfaces using frameworks like Django, Flask, Streamlit, and Gradio. For data annotation and active learning, he prefers using the Label Studio framework. For MLOps on cloud/on-premise, he has a deeper understanding of frameworks like MLRun, MLFlow, and Kubeflow. Hitesh is amazed by the progress made in the area of NLP and NLG in the past couple of years. The sudden upheaval in this stream has enabled him to stay updated on all the ongoing developments in this field. He is open to research collaboration and freelance projects and teaching opportunities. Hitesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai. He has relevant experience of 9.69 years and has worked as a Research Scientist, Data Scientist, and NLP expert.
