Homyar Bhathena is a seasoned technology leader with over 22 years of experience in the industry. As the Sr. Director of Engineering at Appzen, he is revolutionizing finance with AI and delivering AI apps on the low-code engineering platform, Mastermind. Homyar has established Application Engineering, DevOps, and Data Science teams, and is currently setting up the Mastermind Analytics team in India. Prior to his current role, Homyar was the Group Head of CX Platform Engineering at Western Union, where he was responsible for recruiting and operationalizing multiple engineering and DevOps teams. He led a multi-talented team that leveraged multiple technologies to deliver next-generation products and improve customer experience. Homyar was also involved in cloud migration, containerization, and defining microservices for business-critical applications. Additionally, he built an Enterprise Data team to bring together federated data islands across businesses and teams, leveraging big data analytics platforms to analyze and visualize live data. Before joining Western Union, Homyar was the Director of Engineering at Saba, where he oversaw the Saba Enterprise Cloud for learning development, implementation consulting and management, customization development, testing and deployment, cloud deployment, issue analysis and fixing, and resource management, tracking, and reporting. Homyar holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics from Mumbai University, and has a strong technical background in AI, DevOps, AWS, Data Science, Big Data, Java, ML, Microservices, and testing.
