Hugh Ross is an experienced Engineering Manager at Fluence with a passion for making a positive impact in the world. With over 11 years of relevant experience, he has gained a wide breadth of knowledge in different design techniques, project management methods, manufacturing processes, production volumes, and hands-on prototyping skills. Hugh has had the privilege of working on world-changing projects with some incredibly impressive teams and individuals. He has applied his skills to the design and production of technology that makes transportation and energy usage dramatically safer and less polluting than could be imagined just a couple of decades ago. As the Enclosures Engineering Manager - Mechanical at Fluence, Hugh is responsible for managing the design, development, and production of enclosures for energy storage systems. He has also worked as a Systems Engineer - Product Design at Fluence, where he was responsible for developing grid-scale battery storage. Prior to joining Fluence, Hugh worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Waymo, where he was part of the Laser Team working on in-house developed LiDAR for Waymo's self-driving vehicles. He worked closely with optical and electrical engineers on LiDAR specific product requirements. Hugh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated in 2012. He is a Senior Software Engineer and product designer with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail. Overall, Hugh is a passionate and focused engineer who has made a significant impact in the energy and transportation industries.
