Hüseyin Dursun is a highly experienced and accomplished Vice President of Engineering and Head of VMware Platform Services at VMware. With over 33 years of relevant experience, he is a seasoned professional with a strong background in software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and SRE. In his current role, Hüseyin is responsible for leading the global VMware Platform Services (VPS) team, which provides cross-cloud platform services for VMware's SaaS services, security, compliance, and privacy engineering, and VMware engineering services. He is also the Global Head of VMware Engineering Services (VES), where he helps the entire VMware operate and stay productive. Hüseyin's areas of ownership include private clouds, data center operations, engineering infrastructure, hybrid cloud integrations, source code management (SCM), product/service security and performance, engineering productivity tools, I18N / G11N / L10N, IX / documentation, partner and VMware ecosystem management, cloud services operations and central SRE, release engineering, on-premise & SaaS SDLC management, policies & compliance, VMware learning platform & hand-on-labs, technical training, engineering transformation initiatives (DevOps), and engineering integrations for M&A. Prior to his current role, Hüseyin formed and led the global "Cloud and Productivity Engineering" team that develops SaaS infrastructure and tooling to enable all VMware (multi)cloud services and all VMware engineers. He also led the global engineers team that provided product/tool development and DevOps services to VMware's Cloud Management Business Unit (CMBU) product line (aka vRealize) -- Cloud Operations (vROps, vRealize Operations), Cloud Automation (vRealize Automation), Cloud Business (ITBM, vRealize Business), and LogInsight (vRealize LogInsight). Before joining VMware, Hüseyin served as Vice President of Engineering, Business Analytics at Oracle, where he led the successful cloud engineering transformation of a geographically dispersed team of engineers working on Oracle's Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Essbase product portfolios. Hüseyin holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University. He also completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
