Ian Fernandes is an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for the financial domain. With a strong knowledge of financial instruments, particularly in the Fixed Income space, Ian has a demonstrated history of working across tech stacks in the financial services industry. He is skilled in PL/SQL, C/C++ and Python and has worked in various roles, including as a Software Engineer at Fidelity Investments and currently as an SDE-II at Setu. At Fidelity Investments, Ian worked in the Money Market Trading Technology team as a full-stack developer, following the Agile development model. He contributed towards the development/enhancement of trading applications, specifically for the Repo Trading desk, which handled over $150B in average trading volume per day. Along with these responsibilities, Ian also worked in an Analysis capacity on a project, which involved building a one-stop solution for the needs of Equity Research Analysts. This project will essentially serve as a dashboard to display and analyze the financial health of any publicly listed company, as well as compare it with peers in its sector/industry. Ian also worked on a side project, which aimed to analyze the market factors that affect the inflows and outflows into Money Market funds. Ian also worked in the Common Platform Solutions - Security team, which managed the authorization systems under Asset Management Technology, for the organization. During his tenure in this team, Ian designed and implemented database packages, which replaced existing vendor solutions, to manage the policy administration point for the firm. Ian underwent a training period (LEAP), which trained him in various technologies, specific to Data Engineering. Ian's education includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka and a High School Diploma from Abu Dhabi Indian School. He has relevant experience of 4.79 years and possesses a Tech Stack that includes Software Engineer, SQL, Python, Research Scientist, C, and Salesforce.
