Ikram Khan.S.I is the CEO and Founder of ISMO Biophotonics Private Limited, a startup incubated at IIT Madras Bio-Incubator that focuses on developing bio-photonics instruments such as microfluidic bio-reactors, microfluidic accessories, fiber lasers, and sensing. With a strong background in Opto-Electronics, Ikram has a Master's degree in the field from IIT and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Dhaanis Ahmed College of Engineering. He also holds a High School degree in Computer Science from A.J.S Nidhi Higher Secondary School. Ikram has 3.77 years of relevant experience as a Research Scientist and has previously worked as a Visiting Researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During his time there, he worked on designing 2-photon imaging and culture setup for live organoids imaging. He has also worked as a Technical Engineer at Unilumen Photonics Private Limited, where he led the development of a 1064 nm wavelength FP CW fiber laser and second harmonic generation for retinal surgery. Additionally, he designed laser drivers, protection, and control electronics. Ikram's main goal is to establish himself as a global business leader in the life science industry for bio-photonics instruments with in-house vertically integrated product development.
