Ilianna Papastefanou is a highly skilled Software Engineer with 5.87 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently, she is working as a Senior Software Engineer at Snyk, where she specializes in JVM languages, cloud platforms, and data. She is an advocate of Agile Methods and ensures quality with TDD, CI/CD, and Infrastructure As Code. During her tenure at ThoughtWorks, Ilianna worked as a Senior Software Developer Consultant and was part of the platform team. She built a centralised API Gateway using Kong as the chosen API Gateway and AWS CDK and TypeScript as the language of choice for infrastructure as code deploying to AWS. She also migrated a legacy vehicle remarketing system to a new cloud-based system using the strangler pattern for phased decommissioning. Additionally, she worked in the car dealership domain of the business, where she re-designed the new system applying the Hegaxonal architecture pattern. For both projects, Java & Spring Boot were used for backend and React for the frontend. Cypress/Jest/Enzyme/JUnit were used for testing, and ActiveMQ was the messaging system between the different components. Ilianna also has experience working as a Web Developer at Housing Diversity Network, where she developed a cross-platform data-driven application to support HDN as part of her Dissertation for the degree of MSc in Databases & Web-based Systems. The application gives the opportunity to HDN to support social housing providers to assess their performance in Equality and Inclusion, and strategically action plan and track progress. Ilianna holds an Integrated Masters and a BEng in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks from the University of Thessaly, and a Master’s Degree in Databases and Web-based Systems from The University of Salford. Her tech stack includes AWS, Typescript, CI/CD, ECS, Java, Docker, Spring Boot, Spring, and Frontend and Backend development. Ilianna is a highly motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies.
