Israel Sotomayor is a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer at Anaplan with over 9 years of relevant experience in the field of infrastructure engineering. He is currently working as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at entelo, where he is responsible for planning and implementing a high available monitoring system that observes all their Kubernetes clusters. Israel has extensive experience in using technologies such as the Prometheus Operator, Alertmanager, Grafana, Thanos, Loki, and Jsonnet. Israel has built a Prometheus Exporter for their AWS Reserved Instances using Golang that helped them to control, alert and reduce their AWS monthly bill by adjusting reserved instance utilization according to their real needs. He has also helped to containerize all their applications to improve their delivery pipeline and reduce releasing times using technologies like Kubernetes, Kustomize, Istio, Spinnaker, and Concourse CI. Apart from providing support to different teams, Israel also maintains their internal set of tools and improves their different pipelines and workflows to help them continuously deliver software of quality where security is essential. Israel has previously worked at moltin as an Infrastructure Engineer, where he was responsible for architecting, building and maintaining their customers' infrastructure using different automation tools and services. He has also worked as a Platform Engineer at moltin, where he was responsible for building and maintaining their product in its two phases: as a monolithic app and as a distributed set of (micro)services. Israel has a Master's degree in Computer Science - Web Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science - Technical Engineer from the Universidad de Oviedo. He also has a Foundation Degree in Computer Science from College Astures and a High School of Humanities and Social Sciences degree from Collage Noreña. Israel has completed several courses in English and Graphic Design from different institutions.
