J.J. Bennett is a seasoned software developer, technologist, and leader with over 17 years of experience in the field. Currently working as a Senior Software Developer Analyst at the University of Texas at Austin, J.J. is excited to be a part of the digital transformation of libraries at the university. J.J.'s expertise lies in full-stack generalist with experience in end-to-end software development in an AGILE environment. He has a strong command over Python/Django framework, Solr, API design and implementation (REST and GraphQL), Sql and NoSql database design and management, Node/Express/React, containerization with Docker, Kubernetes/Rancher. J.J. is also proficient in integrating with open-source software, internal multi-departmental, and external vendor products. He is the lead on PO/stakeholder interactions and mentoring of junior developers. What sets J.J. apart from other software developers is his unique knowledge of archival and preservation technologies, including Fedora, Islandora, IIIF, Spotlight/Blacklight, XML metadata schemas, and transformation. He has previously worked as a Lead Software Developer and Software Developer at the University of Texas at Austin's Libraries Information Technology Services (LITS) department.
