Jace Chan is a people-oriented software engineer with a strong background in computer science and industry experience. As a full-stack engineer, he has worked with various technologies including JavaScript, React.js, Redux, Node.js/Express.js, Ruby, Rails, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Jace is passionate about creating meaningful impact and delivering value to customers through his skills and expertise. In addition to his technical skills, Jace is also an active volunteer and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. He volunteers his time with organizations like Out in Tech, empowering LGBTQ+ youth in technology, and RailsGirls and Women in Computing, addressing the gender gap in tech. Jace's empathy and people-first approach make him an excellent collaborator and a valuable asset to any team. Currently, Jace works as a Software Engineer II at VTS, where he continues to hone his skills and make a positive impact. Prior to VTS, he worked at Minus - Project as a Full Stack Developer, where he developed an open-source full-stack web app that easily tracks remaining time until due events. He also implemented a responsive and interactive user interface with CSS transitions and supported CRUD operations in RESTful architecture. Jace also worked as a Computer Science & Engineering Undergraduate Tutor at the University of California San Diego, where he explained core course topics, tutored for a mathematics course, and facilitated online discussions. Jace holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California and an Advanced Software Engineering Immersive degree from Hack Reactor.
