Jack Bearden is a Principal Software Engineer at CommScope with over 11 years of relevant experience. He specializes in building critical applications and services using Go. Jack has worked with leading tech companies such as SAP and Brocade in the past. During his tenure at SAP, Jack was responsible for development and release efforts for core Hadoop components such as HDFS and YARN. He worked with the Hadoop open-source community to integrate critical security fixes and upgrades. Jack also designed, developed, implemented, and scaled the LDAP and Kerberos infrastructure to support the growing needs of the customer base. Additionally, he maintained critical services that communicate via x509-based REST API. At Brocade, Jack designed, developed, implemented, and maintained scaling of Ruby on Rails applications using Docker containers in AWS. He also designed, developed, implemented, and maintained an ACS SOAP API that leverages the TR-069 protocol for provisioning Ruckus Cloud access points on-the-fly. Jack developed an enterprise-wide, SSO system for all cloud-based, customer-facing applications, leveraging the OAuth2 strategy with an LDAP backend and Two-Factor Authentication capability. He also developed a company-wide, point of sale processing application that is driven solely by background processes to extract, transform and load 3rd party text files into a MySQL database. Jack has a Bachelor's degree in Chinese (Mandarin) from the University of Utah. He is well-versed in a variety of technologies, including Hadoop, HDFS, Ruby, Salesforce, AWS, Docker, and MySQL.
