Jacqueline Chiu is a highly experienced Software Engineer with over 14 years of relevant experience. She is currently working at Marqeta, Inc as a Software Engineer. Previously, she worked at Potato as a Senior Software Engineer, where she was the backend lead on the largest and longest-running contract. She worked on the migration of a legacy system from Python2 to Python3, rewrote a Python2/Django web service to Python3, and updated and maintained import jobs handling the data ingress and egress between external services. She also implemented and maintained CI/CD integrations for projects with Gitlab, GCP, and Docker. Jacqueline's past experience also includes working at Formation as a Software Engineer in Test. There, she spearheaded multiple projects for three bespoke machine-learning platforms written in Scala, Haskell, Python, and PostgresSQL utilizing AWS services. As part of her development team, she collaborated on the iterations of the architectural design and planning of the POC platform and new features including but not limited to data ingress/egress, data validation, business logic, and channel delivery. Aside from her engineering work, Jacqueline has also worked with the executive team to begin and lead Women in Tech initiatives within Formation as well as other company culture initiatives. She has led the creation of the Women's ERG within Potato and was a founding member of the diversity and inclusion committee. Her notable legacy there is improving staff benefits and wellness programs, reviewing and redesigning portions of hiring to reduce bias, and pushing leadership to take a larger role in D&I initiatives across the board. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology & Law from Suffolk University. Her tech stack includes Software Engineering, Backend, Docker, GCP, test, Python, Integration, AWS, CI/CD, SDET, Redis, Web, Django, infra, Apache Airflow, and Scala.
