Jake Fodor is a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for creating software that people love to use. He is currently working as a Technology Counselor at emagination computer camps, where he is responsible for developing and implementing technology-based programs for campers. Jake has a wealth of experience in UI/UX research and design, having previously worked as a UI/UX Researcher at Penn State University. In this role, he led a team through the successful redesign and prototyping of a legacy Navy training management application, performing formal usability studies and producing mockups using AxureRP and Balsamiq. He also contributed features and functionality to an Angular 2+ app and delivered a comprehensive redesign document covering study findings to guide a future rebuild. Prior to this, Jake worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Penn State University, where he performed usability research, user interface design, and contributed features and functionality to a web app using JavaScript (ES6), SCSS, and Dojo. He also maintained a thorough battery of over 5000 GUI unit tests using Karma/Jasmine and mutation tested using Grunt. Jake holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Software Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science and Technology, Application Design and Development, both from Penn State University. He is a skilled software engineer with expertise in a range of technologies, including Angular, React, Node.js, and AWS. Overall, Jake has 3.85 years of relevant experience in the field of software engineering and is dedicated to creating high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of users.
