Japneet S. is a highly motivated student who is constantly seeking out new ideas and opportunities to learn and grow. Currently serving as the Google Developer Student Club Lead, Japneet is responsible for managing the Department of Sun and Heliosphere. With a strong background in Mathematics and Computing, Japneet has honed her skills as a Research Scientist and Javascript developer. Japneet's past experience includes working as a Research Intern at the Max-Planck Institute for Solar System Research where she worked on large scale extrapolations of the solar magnetic field for improved solar phenomena prediction. She also developed a C library to calculate Spherical Harmonics, which was rigorously tested with real satellite data. This resulted in a significant reduction in computation time and increased precision over existing methods. Additionally, Japneet has worked as a Core Team Member at DevClub IIT Delhi, where she worked on the development of projects such as the Yearbook, Portfolio Creator, and Capture the Flag (CTF) portal. She also mentored juniors through orientations and sessions on Git, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. Japneet's education history includes a Bachelor of Technology in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, which she completed in 2023. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Computing from Simon Fraser University, which she is set to complete in 2022. Japneet also holds an impressive academic record, having achieved 97.8% in her high school diploma from Springdales School in India. Japneet's tech stack includes expertise in Research Science and Javascript. With 0.27 years of relevant experience, Japneet is a dedicated and driven individual who is committed to excellence in her work.
