Jarin Manuel is a student at Washington State University who is currently interning at Spirent Communications as an Engineering Lab Admin. In this role, he has been working in an engineering lab dealing with computer hardware and software, and testing internet applications security. Jarin has been given a fast track learning curve of coding through Ruby in order to process an inventorying program to report back to finance of what was found/not found. He has also activated a personal hypervisor and navigated through terminal codes to process written programs. Additionally, Jarin has racked several chassis and other machines into 2-post and 4 post racks and wired them to power, in order to be used for varying departments within the company. He has inventoried each piece of equipment each week within the lab to a point to find any discrepancies between online audit and actual deployments (DCIM). Moreover, he has unpackaged and repackaged machines to either be deployed in their branch's engineering lab for monitoring, or shipped out to other branches for testing. Jarin has also organized lab equipment for quick and easy recognition when using tools and deploying other machines. Before his internship, Jarin worked as a Printer at Plan B Printing during the summer. He silk screened t-shirts for large company brands such as HIDEMAND, Mayjah, etc. and often operated on a team to collaborate on separate orders simultaneously while keeping a steady rotation of printing, packaging, customer service, inventorying/cleaning. He learned to operate heavy machinery such as an 8 armed silk screener and a curer for the shirts. Jarin is currently pursuing a degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from Whitworth University, which he is expected to complete in 2020. He also attended Damien Memorial School from 2012 to 2016. Jarin's tech stack includes test and Ruby, and he has 5.78 years of relevant experience.
