Jash Gala is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon, with over 6 years of experience in the field of software engineering. Jash started his career at Amazon as a Software Development Engineer Intern, where he successfully completed a two-month internship and received a Pre-Placement Offer to join Amazon full time. After joining Amazon full time, he worked as a part of the Amazon.in Customer Shopping Experience team, where he mainly worked on the Product Detail Page and the India Deals Platform. As a part of the team, he worked on multiple enhancement projects on the live website for mobile Web and App platforms, enhancing the customer's experience and influencing OPS (orders-per-second). Jash moved internally to the CMT - Big Data team in August 2017, where he successfully created a big data system that can be used for detecting and root-causing defects in internal CMT subsystems, which result in uncompetitive pricing for Amazon products. Soon after the project, he was promoted to SDE-II. Currently, Jash is working on the creation of an organization-wide DataLake, which extracts data in real time from multiple heterogeneous sources and provides real-time stream and batch processing capabilities, as well as supports querying over a huge volume of historical data at human-friendly latencies. This project will also involve the statistical analysis and ML-model based predictions for best prices for Amazon products. Jash holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Information Technology from Indian Technical Jobs. He also completed his Higher Secondary Education from Ramnarain Ruia College and his schooling from Fatima High School.
