Jason Wolfe is a Principal Researcher at Microsoft who is passionate about finding smart solutions to underspecified problems and leading teams to implement these solutions in performant, scalable, and maintainable software systems. With over 11 years of relevant experience, he is an expert in research and development of machine learning-based features for natural language processing (NLP) and dialogue systems. Prior to joining Microsoft, Jason worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Semantic Machines, where he helped develop cutting-edge dialogue systems that were later acquired by Microsoft. He also worked as a Consultant at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence AI2, where he developed machine learning-based features for the Semantic Scholar product. Jason holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he focused on natural language processing and dialogue systems. He also holds a B.S. in EECS and a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the same institution. With a strong background in research and development, Jason is proficient in using his expertise in NLP and machine learning to address real human needs.
