Jaspreet Kochar is an experienced data scientist with over 6 years of experience in solving real-world business problems across a wide range of domains. Currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at Walmart, Jaspreet has worked extensively on solving multiple problem statements spanning across Retail, Supply Chain, Travel & Aviation, Manufacturing, Logistics, Banking, and Climate & Sustainability. Adept at utilizing Machine Learning, Decision Optimization, Statistical Modeling, Predictive Analytics, and Cloud Capabilities to deliver tangible results to business, Jaspreet is experienced in working in the end-to-end lifecycle of Data Science projects as well as in Research and Development (R&D) teams. At Walmart, Jaspreet is working on multiple initiatives in Merchandising and Finance for Sam’s Club stores throughout the US. He is responsible for building a causal-scenario what-if decision-making platform that allows Sam’s club to achieve its full growth potential by orchestrating business choices and investments. He has also built multi-objective optimization frameworks using Genetic Algorithms to recommend the optimal breakdown of investments on functional channels to reach a desired target sales while minimizing the net spend. Prior to Walmart, Jaspreet worked at IHS Markit where he worked on a large-scale forecasting product which provides hourly locational marginal price (LMP) basis forecasts for thousands of nodes in the transmission grids for power markets in the United States. He built an end-to-end solution on AWS cloud using sophisticated statistical and machine learning models to provide LMP forecasts at user’s fingertips. Jaspreet has also worked at Nagarro where he was responsible for researching, developing, and implementing solutions to real-world business problems across a wide range of business domains with an emphasis on the areas of Machine Learning, Optimization, Predictive Modeling, Forecasting, Reinforcement Learning, Metaheuristics, Causal Inference, etc. He has created intelligent AI solutions for optimizing cargo space utilization, real-time flexible scheduling, and last-mile delivery optimization. Jaspreet holds a Master of Technology in Data Science and Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He is proficient in technologies like AWS, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Python, Java, Spark, Databricks, AI, Scikit, TensorFlow, and Pandas.
