Javier Muhrer is an accomplished Software Engineer, currently working at Airtable. With over 9 years of relevant experience, Javier has a proven track record of developing high-output teams that value collaboration, inclusion, and fun. Before joining Airtable, Javier co-founded Redjay, a software startup that empowers individuals to drive their professional growth. As the sole technical founder, he built two production-ready MVPs, a personal work journal, and a growth planning tool for a direct report to use with their manager. He also learned basic design principles and extended upon patterns & principles set forth by their part-time design contractor. Javier conducted dozens of user research interviews, synthesizing learnings for his co-founders. Technologies used include Rails, React, Typescript, GraphQL, Relay, and AWS. Javier also worked at Intercom as an Engineering Manager, where he led teams that owned billing systems, marketing site frontend & infrastructure, integrations between the product and Sales/Marketing systems, and in-house analytics solutions. He developed high-potential engineers from varied backgrounds (bootcamp, CS, Marketing automation) into accomplished full-stack engineers that led P0 company projects ranging from monitoring/infrastructure improvements, pricing updates, and multiple rewrites of their marketing site. Javier created high-output teams that valued collaboration, inclusion, and fun. He managed complex relationships stakeholders across the company requiring weekly check-ins and quarterly roadmaps that integrated the needs of several departments (Product, BizDev, Sales, Marketing, & Analytics). Javier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University. He also attended Emmaus High School. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, AWS, Ruby, Typescript, Research Scientist, Senior Software Engineering, infra, and Frontend. Javier's experience as a co-founder and an engineering manager has given him a unique perspective on software development, team management, and stakeholder relationships.
