About
Jay Aliwala is a passionate Chassis Dyno Engineer at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to the advancement of sustainable technology in the automotive and mechanical industries. He recently completed his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he gained expertise in vehicle dynamics, powertrain, and testing domains. With over three years of relevant experience, Jay has worked in various roles, including Product Design Engineer at Universal Designovation Lab LLP, where he accomplished the product design of a multipurpose utilization and convertible vehicle for the customer. He also worked as a Steering and Suspension Head at SAE Baja Nirma University, where he led and designed the steering and suspension system of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), achieving single-point turning and increased maneuverability through steering dynamics. Currently, Jay works as a Chassis Dyno Engineer at Stellantis (Chelsea Proving Grounds, MI), where he is responsible for testing and validating the performance of vehicles on the chassis dynamometer. He is passionate about design and process improvement, seeking full-time opportunities in mechanical design, product design, and testing domains. In his previous role as a Maintenance Engineer at ArcelorMittal, Jay led a 6-member team at Central Maintenance Shop (CMS) for solving problems related to 'continuous strip' mill rollers and machine maintenance. He achieved a solution for 'continuous strip plant' rollers (CSP) failure by performing design and process failure mode analysis, increasing life by changing the design, and performing ultrasonic non-destructive tests as part of preventive maintenance. Jay holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical and Minor in Design Engineering from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He is proficient in test and product design and is always seeking new challenges to transform his goals into reality.
