Jay Cherian is a customer-focused technical leader with over 22 years of experience in the telecom, media, and entertainment industry. He is currently employed at Google as a Customer Engineer for Cloud in the same industry. Jay is responsible for ensuring technical success in the journey towards increasing cloud adoption for his customers. He oversaw the architecture of applications for cloud-based and on-premises services, developed AWS architecture to define a disaster recovery strategy, and introduced a new analytics dashboard accessed by 500+ employees. Jay also introduced streamlined launching processes for new live channels, which improved velocity from two months to four days, and successfully achieved a 38% reduction in playback errors. Jay also worked at Infosys as a Senior Principal Architect in DirecTV/AT&T. In this role, he oversaw the development of applications and infrastructure for a multinational IT services company generating more than $10 billion in annual revenue. Jay created scalable architecture for the next-generation video encoding pipeline, introduced an automation framework to optimize infrastructure, application deployment, and media pipeline, and provided training and supervision to 125+ developers across multiple accounts. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Karnatak University. He is skilled in Senior Software Engineering, infra, and AWS.
