Jay Hamilton is a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead with over 8 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead at Solo, where he is responsible for designing, architecting, and developing new features and future iterations of their dynamic solar proposal app. Jay is a full-stack developer who has worked with a variety of technologies such as NodeJS, ReactJS, and AngularJS. He is passionate about making code reusable and easy to understand with minimal comments. Jay believes in creating solid, performant products and is always learning new things to improve his skills. Prior to his current role, Jay worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Solium, where he was responsible for refactoring and implementing new designs on an interesting app. He moved existing, old-school Angular components and functionality over to a ReactJS architecture and created a seamless integration with the existing NodeJS backend. Jay also worked towards adding an external API and was responsible for adding new routes, controllers, services, models, and such as needed. Jay has also worked as a Mentor at Bloc, Inc., where he worked with software development bootcamp students. He helped them with coding, debugging, mock interviews, and overall understanding of what they are getting into. Jay has a strong educational background and has pursued an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Science from Salt Lake Community College.
