Jay Jagtap is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for machine learning and deep learning. He is currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at Cerebras Systems, where he has been instrumental in developing cutting-edge technology in the areas of TensorFlow Estimators, Wafer Scale Engine, Deep Learning, NumPy, and Process Standardization. Jay has a proven track record of delivering high-quality work, reducing code redundancy, and creating common frameworks supporting different Neural Networks. Prior to his current role, Jay worked as a Software Engineer at Cerebras Systems, where he developed a training template script to run any current/future Neural Network models using TensorFlow Estimator, eliminating the need to write a model-dependent training script, saving developers’ time. He also created a numeric check library for efficient numeric matching of loss, activation, and weight values for GPU vs CS1 (Company Wafer) model runs. Jay has also gained valuable experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Persistent Systems, where he worked on Brain Controlled Home Automation. He classified brain signals and achieved accuracies above 85% with SVM and Decision Tree algorithms. He also developed a GUI using Electron, OpenMP, Web-Sockets, HTML CSS, JavaScript, and Python backend. He interfaced the desktop application with AC, TV, and lights using Python and Arduino microcontroller. Jay holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in Software Engineering, TensorFlow, Neural Networks, Deep Learning, Python, SVM, Javascript, ML, Backend, and Web technologies.
