Jay Lohokare is a versatile software engineer and product manager with over 8 years of relevant experience. He has worked with top companies such as Google, AWS, and McKinsey, and has co-founded three organizations. Jay is a product-minded engineer who excels in ideating and building software and data products. He is highly flexible and agile in solving problems, which makes him a valuable asset to any team he works with. Jay's diverse set of skills ranges from software design and development to team building and product design/management. He is experienced in backend development using Python, Golang, and Java, as well as data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop. Jay also has expertise in mobile development for Android, and machine learning using Tensorflow, MLib, and Pandas/Sklearn. Jay has achieved several notable accomplishments in recent years, including leading Sparrow-Platform to win UN Call for Code, leading a machine learning transformation for one of the world's largest mines, winning FCBayern hack-days in Munich, and winning the best paper award at IEEE ICEI. He is also a trained musician, avid traveler, and passionate about knowledge sharing. In his spare time, Jay conducts/facilitates workshops or mentorship sessions related to technology, entrepreneurship, hackathons, and philosophy. Currently, Jay works as a Senior Software Engineer at Robinhood, where he is responsible for building and maintaining services handling 3rd party integrations that enable Money Movement on Robinhood. He has also founded Sparrow Platform, an open-source disaster recovery platform that won 2nd place at Callforcode 2019. As the overall head of the project, Jay designed and led the development of the platform, drove business expansion, B2B partnerships, user acquisition, and marketing initiatives. Jay holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from COEP Technological University. He is also skilled in AWS, product management, ML, Scikit, product design, and more.
