Jay Modi is a Technical Lead at WotNot.io, with over 8 years of experience in Backend Engineering using Python and Node. He is currently exploring Kubernetes, Distributed Tracing, and Containerized cloud-native microservices, following industry-standard best practices. Jay has also worked on Ethereum and public Blockchain technologies and is well-versed in standard PEP8 coding styles and industry's best practices. Jay's current role as a Python Developer at ntech technologies pvt ltd involves designing RESTful APIs with Django REST Framework and integrating them with the frontend using JQuery & AJAX. He has worked with Google Maps API and Facebook Graph API and has experience working on E-Commerce projects using Django-Oscar. Jay has collaborated with different teams on various Django projects with full-stack capability. In the past, Jay has worked as a Software Engineer (Python Django) at DRC Systems, where he collaborated with the team with full-stack ability (Python, Django, JQuery, Backbone.js, Mako templating). He was responsible for doing R&D on the openEDX platform to migrate existing features with upstreams and worked on CMS studio to modify course sections using Backbone.js and reflect according to the LMS. As a Sr. Python Django Developer at Quixom Technology, Jay built powerful backend using Django and Django REST Framework for various mobile applications. He also developed custom X-Blocks for OpenEdx and contributed to open-source packages. Jay has worked closely with django-oscar package to power Online E-commerce store with all customized features including checkout functionality. He has also implemented Paypal and Braintree payment gateway. Recently, Jay worked on a hybrid fully customized elegant e-commerce store built with django-oscar and django-cms at the base of django-cms-cookiecutter. Jay holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from LDRP Institute of Technology & Research, Gujarat Technological University. He also completed his HSC from J.B.Upadhayay High School, Talod. Jay's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Backend, Ethereum, Blockchain, Python, Kubernetes, and Microservices. He is always eager to learn new technologies and contribute to open-source packages.
