Jay Patravali is a graduate student at Oregon State University pursuing a Master of Science degree in Robotics. With a keen interest in computer vision and machine learning, he is actively working on self-supervised and low-shot learning in images and videos. Jay is seeking full-time positions in ML/CV engineering that involve software development and the application of AI research. He is a Research Scientist with over seven years of relevant experience and a Tech Stack that includes Computer Vision, ML, Video Classification, Supervised Learning, AI, and Software Engineering. Currently, Jay is a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, advised by Professor Fuxin Li. He is working on the DARPA Machine Common Sense Project, developing machine learning and perception systems for object segmentation, tracking, and filtering. His ongoing research is focused on Video Object Discovery and Unsupervised Video Instance Segmentation, with one paper accepted to a CVPR'20 Workshop. Prior to his current role, Jay was a Research Intern at Microsoft, where he developed new algorithms for large-scale video self-supervision and few-shot video classification. He worked with a computer vision group geared towards Custom Vision Services for Azure and submitted a paper to a CV conference. Before that, he was a Research Software Engineer at the Indian Institute of Science, where he developed probabilistic GANs for prediction and generation of diverse human pose sequences from noisy videos with occlusions and rapid camera movements. He also developed software and tooling for experimentation, resulting in a paper at WACV'21. Jay has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from VIT and completed his ICSE from Smt Sulochanadevi Singhania School. With a strong academic background and relevant experience, Jay is a highly motivated individual who is passionate about AI research and software development.
