Jay Smith is a highly accomplished and trusted IT executive with over 28 years of experience in delivering business value. He has built and managed teams around the world, serving in various senior roles from senior program director to development VP to non-executive director and marketing manager. Jay has extensive experience in building, organizing, and managing multi-continent teams to deliver complex systems in banking, credit card processing, insurance, and government settings. He has also driven teams to conceive and execute go-to-market strategies to build company and product brand awareness and grow market share. Jay has had end-to-end responsibility for building both the delivery and the marketing organizations to address the target markets ranging from products, individual international companies, geographic regions, and entire industries. Some of the industries, companies, and organizations that have been within his portfolio include financial services, insurance services, non-financial, state government, and transportation. Jay has specialties in program management, product and services marketing, large-scale software development, multinational project management, international trade, banking and government, large project estimation, off-shore development, SaaS and delivery, and Agile SAFe development processes. Currently, Jay serves as the Chairperson of the Accumulate Governance Committee at Accumulate, where he works with some of the smartest people in the blockchain space to help maintain the distributed governance model of the Accumulate blockchain. He has also served as the Vice President of Business Development at DeFi Devs, where he helped DeFi and blockchain projects build bigger, better, and more ambitious projects by leveraging and partnering with Accumulate. Additionally, he has served as a Distinguished Engineer in Blockchain at Inveniam, where he helped define and build the next generation of blockchain-enabled financial applications. Jay holds a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Vincennes University. He is proficient in blockchain, DeFi, software engineering, and senior software engineering.
