Jaya Aditya Chandrasekar is a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in backend development, data engineering, and big data systems. She is currently working at Smartnews, Inc. as a Big Data Engineer, where she is responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines and distributed systems. Prior to this, she worked at Yahoo! JAPAN, where she gained extensive experience in developing scalable and fault-tolerant systems. Jaya is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), where she majored in Materials Science Engineering. Her passion for technology and startups led her to work and freelance for various startups in the field of web development. She is a self-professed technology nerd and keeps herself updated with the latest happenings in fields such as Machine Learning, DLT, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality. Jaya is a quick learner and has a hands-on approach to problem-solving. She has worked on various projects, including developing a web application to view/process Kafka messages, providing an interface to features provided by Kafka APIs, and a spark application to batch Kafka messages into text files. She has also led a team of interns at IITK New York Office, where they added key features to several micro-services written in more than five languages.
